- Excellence in animal care and exhibitions, with a focus on creating high-quality, innovative animal exhibits
- Capitalizing on the unique role of zoos in saving critically endangered species in zoos and in the world, with recent focus on creating a future for wildlife
- Modeling and promoting sustainability
